Rather than designing around the moment a shoe leaves the box, VYN considers everything that happens afterwards. Built with replaceable components and a modular heel system, the trainer can be renewed as it is worn, extending its life without asking the owner to preserve it untouched. Most trainers are replaced because one part wears before the rest. VYN began by questioning why that should mean the end of the shoe.
Its modular construction allows the heel component to be removed and replaced, renewing one of the areas most affected by wear while the trainer itself continues its life. What would ordinarily become a reason to replace the entire pair instead becomes part of its design.
INNOVATION
VYN’s defining innovation sits at the heel. Using the brand’s patented attachment system, the heel piece can be removed and replaced by the wearer, allowing one of the most vulnerable parts of a trainer to be renewed without replacing the shoe itself.
It also introduces an element of personalisation. A new heel can restore a well worn pair or change its character entirely, allowing the trainer to evolve through different colours and finishes over time.
